PURE was the first commercial game I ever worked on professionally (as a graduate programmer), back in 2007! It was a trick-based extreme sports racing title developed by Black Rock Studio (a Disney Interactive Studio) and released on XBox 260, PC & Playstation 3.


My involvement was pretty short-lived, however I did greatly enjoy implementing the “haptic feedback” in the controller which responded quite granularly to the player’s speed, boosts, drifts, road surface properties & impact strength on landing (or colliding!)

I was only on the project for about 6 months before (deservedly) failing my probation, after which I left the games industry for about 12 years or so…
